Neil had a normal upbringing, living on a stud farm with horses all around him. His sister was horse mad but he showed no interest in them, until he visited a castle in Yorkshire with his aunt and a fleeting meeting with a string of finely tuned racehorses, stirred something inside his soul. After his first visit to a racecourse, he was quickly hooked. He started riding and before long it became clear that he had an aptitude and talent for it. Before long he was working at the local racing stables and in next to no time he was riding as an apprentice jockey and started rising through the ranks and he was soon being spoken of of being the next big thing in the racing yard and a potential future champion jockey. However after a few mistakes and wrong moves it all started to dramatically unravel, and he was soon on a downward spiral with no apparent way of stopping, and before long he was desperately fighting to save not only his career, but more importantly his life as well as he probed into the underbelly of the racing world, and the deeper he went the further into danger he went with consequences that could prove fatal.
